NONFICTION: Elaine W. Miller: “Touching Hearts With Words — Writing Non-fiction from A to Z.” (Part I) Travel with Elaine on her writing journey as she shares the ABC’s and XYZ’s of becoming a published author who touches hearts. Over two sessions, Elaine will cover topics including how to be published, traditional vs. self-publishing, speaking, editing, marketing, and the writer’s life. Pre-requisite: A desire to write books that change lives and to do so with excellence.

FICTION: Marsha Hubler: “What Does That Editor Expect?” You’ve written the next best seller and you want to send it to an editor–any editor. But what do you need to know about writing, such as manuscript preparation, polishing the PUGS, and actually working with an editor to get your work published in excellent form? Come to this session and find out how to present your work in such a manner that the editor can’t turn you down.

Marsha Hubler: “Make Your Fiction Jump Off the Page” Character development, plot with climax and resolution, natural dialogue, flowing narration….these are all important facets of writing page-turning fiction that wows your reader. Learn the basics of developing a story that the editor and the readers in the marketplace will not be able to resist.

 About Our  Speakers

Elaine W. Miller

Elaine W. Miller is an author and international speaker who uses warmth, enthusiasm, and humor to connect with her audience. A member of the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, she has been a featured guest on Miller.Photo.Dan and I skiing in NY (2)radio and television, a keynote retreat speaker and seminar leader, and a faculty member of the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writer’s Conference,  Montrose We all Married Idiots cover (2)Christian Writer’s Conference, and the Upstate New York Christian Writers’ Gathering. Elaine is the author of three books, We All Married Idiots: Three Things You Will Never Change About Your Marriage and Ten Things You Can, Splashes of Serenity: Bathtime Reflections for Drained Moms, and Splashes of Serenity: Bathtime Reflections for Drained Wives. Her writing is in Sanctuary: A Devotional Bible for Women as well as several magazines. Elaine and her husband Dan, an ordained minister, live in Campbell, NY. Together they lead marriage retreats and travel annually to Europe as the Pastoral Care Couple to International Workers. Marsha Hubler

The author of the best-selling Keystone Stables Series from Zonderkidz,  Marsha lives in central PA with her husband and two dogs. She has a master’s degree in education, over 40 years experience with children of all ages, and MyPictureforContact Pagepresently works with homeschoolers in her home office.  Her latest published works, THE LOVES OF SNYDER COUNTY SERIES and THE SNYDER COUNTY QUILTING BEE 12 SHORT STORIES, Amish/Mennonite fiction romance by Helping Hands Press, was created out of Marsha’s friendship with many Plain Folk who live in Snyder County. FROM THE NORTH: Take Route 15 south to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Turn right on Route 45, traveling approximately 8 miles to Mifflinburg. Carriage Corner Restaurant is located on the left at the first red light in town.

FROM THE SOUTH: Take Routes 11-15 north toward Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Turn left onto PA Route 104. Travel approximately 25 miles to Mifflinburg. Turn right onto Route 45/Chestnut Street, traveling approximately 1.5 miles. Carriage Corner Restaurant is located on the right, just past the red light at Sheetz.

FROM THE EAST: Take I-80 west toward Bloomsburg. Take Route 15 south to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Turn right on Route 45, traveling approximately 8 miles to Mifflinburg. Carriage Corner Restaurant is located on the left at the first red light in town.

FROM THE WEST: Take Route 45 east to Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. Route 45 becomes Chestnut Street – travel approximately 1.5 miles to the end of town. Carriage Corner Restaurant is located on the right, just past the red light at Sheetz.
